letters to mom, letter 44~20~2100 Dear Mom, I am so tired tonight. This past week has been extremely busy. First, we had to climb over yet another pass. Then, we encountered the Indian checkpoints. The security has been hugely increased, sense Pakistan has invaded and is occupying the northern part of India. Everyone needs three types of ID, not including a passport, which you must have, a bribe, which is not stated, but everyone must still have, and money for a tax on all of what they have. Also, you have to be a guy, or have a guy, because these solders don’t trust women. Sense we didn’t have any of those, we had to sneak through the woods atletters to mom, letter 4

We’ve decided to go to the Ganges River. We head south, though that’s all I know of the course. Anantha is good with maps and directions, and has a compass, so she’ll lead. Yami is becoming her old self again. That’s good. Today, we started the long hike. For now, all of us seem to be keeping up our energy. Yami keeps talking and talking, but she seems to have the best balance of us all. I don’t know how she does it. Maybe it’s just because I’m a klutz.
